“I’ve always said, VIOLENT TREASURE, is one of my favorite paintings ever. why? the answer is, I don’t really know, I think it’s the year it was created [1990] which was also the year my daughter was born, it was also a breakthrough piece at the time, with the addition of acrylic paint to a traditional spraypainting regimen. in short, I see the painting, in the same way as I look even further back, to my BREAK TRAIN from [1980] with memories of MAJOR MAGIC. cut to the ARTWORK on the SKATEDECKS, and I must acknowledge RAMMELLEZEE and his iconic SKATEBOARD pieces from back in the day. INLOVINGMEMORY.” —FUTURA 2000
